This often happens in countries of the 3rd World where people need between feeding the family and care of animals to choose ..
People are generally very poor and have no other skills than the cutting of wood or something.
I know people in Mexico as well and said he did not cut the wood and do it anyway, because it is a choice between logging or can not eat. Those who really need help to develop the next generation because the children in school and have better skills than their parents if they are from high school.
